Avoiding discussions on important issues is to camouflage the poor working of the government : Dhindsa
Ferozepur, September 13, 2016: The Congress leaders and workers today led by District Congress Committee, President, Chamkaur Singh Dhindsa burnt the effigy of Punjab Government and Speaker as a mark of respect.
Levelling charges of highhandedness on Akali-BJP governemnt, Dhindsa said, it is a murder of democracy across Punjab after the Speaker of Vidhan Sabha refused to allow Congress MLAs from speaking on the no-confidence motion yesterday. This attitude on the part of the government will not be tolerated any cost.
He further said, Congress had proposed to have discussions on corruption and law and order situation in the state but the same was declined by the Speaker on the directions of the government when it is the right of the opposition party. But it has been done to camouflage the poor working of the government.
Presently, the law and order situation in the Punjab is worst and corruption is dominating everywhere and as such both the issues are serious.
Despite this, Akali-BJP government is avoiding to have debate on these issues and 30 Congress MLAs including 4 female MLAs are compelled to sit on dharna in Vidhan Sabha and stat for a night which is perhaps for the first time in the history of the country. The condemnable work on the part of Akali-BJP government will be written with ‘black words’ in the history.
