Congress too demands registration of case against Akali Leader for his remarks against Ambedkar
Ferozepur, July 14, 2016: Today, the Congress workers burn the effigy of Akali leader and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Virsa Singh Valtoha at Ferozeur Cantt chowk, to register their protest for passing remarks on Bharat Ratan Baba Saheb Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution.
Talking to media persons, Amarjit Singh Gharu, Chairman SC Cell and Chamkaur Singh Singh Dhindsa, District President, Distt. Congress Committee said, the Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha, few day back, have said in a local TV Channel programme that B.R.Ambedkar is responsible for spreading casteism as he made a provision for reservation of SC and ST categories in the Constitution. There was a great resentment among the people and a protest was made during the programme also.
They said, by doing so, Valtoha has exposed the casteism feudalism intentions of Akali-BJP. The Akali Dal had always been opponent of Baba Saheb and Virsa Singh Valtoha has openly exposed this reflection.
Valtoha has given the malicious statement as representative of the government and Akali BJP government should tender apology on this issue to redress the sentiments of the people, they added.
Giving a strong warning, they said, in case the case is not registered against Valtoha, the agitation will be intensified by the Congress.
Present among others on this occasion were Happy Brar, Satnam Singh, Ravinder Kaju, Babbo Nagpal, Manish Sharma, Ram Avtar, Anil Sharma, Jagtar Singh, Baba Vijay Gill, bohar Singh Bikenaria, Parminder Singh and others.
