Congress MLA admits her son in Government School
Ferozepur, April 20, 2021: Congress party MLA Rural, Satkar Kaur on Tuesday admitted her son, who was studying in a private school, to Government School at Bazidpur, Block Satiyewala in Plus One Science Group.
The education department has already started a campaign ‘Each One, Bring One’ across the state to increase the student enrolment in government schools by setting up Publicity Canopy in the villages. The face-lift schools have started attracting students and parents from private schools. The brain child behind the campaign, Education Secretary Krishan Kumar is of the view that here are over 1.5 lakh employees in state government schools and if each staff member brings one student in each session, their strength might increase manifold.
Satkar Kaur MLA has come forward to contribute in the enrolment campaign. She desired the others should also take the initiative to put their kids in government schools.
Kamal Preet Singh son of MLA was earlier studying in a private school and perhaps she is first MLA taking the initiative to pull out her son from private school and admit in a government school.
Jasmail SinghLadi Gehri husband of Satkar Kaur Gehri, MLA said, the performance and infrastructure of government schools are now improved and admitting our child in government school will give a message to others also. We also want to remove the biases that envelop people’s minds against sending their children to government-run schools, he said.
