Clean India-Clean Schools’ : Govt Primary School Gatti Rajo Ke near border among 31 schools selected for State Level Award
Ferozepur, August 29, 2018: As many as 31 schools of Ferozepur district have been selected for State Level Award under ‘Clean India-Clean Schools campaign.
Added here, the Swachh Vidyalaya is the national campaign driving ‘Clean India: Clean Schools’. A key feature of the campaign is to ensure that every school in India has a set of functioning and well-maintained water, sanitation and hygiene facilities. Water, sanitation and hygiene in schools refer to a combination of technical and human development components that are necessary to produce a healthy school environment and to develop or support appropriate health and hygiene behaviours. The technical components include drinking water, hand washing, toilet and soap facilities in the school compound for use by children and teachers. The human development components are the activities that promote conditions within the school and the practices of children that help to prevent water, hygiene and sanitation related diseases.
While 8 schools have been selected for this award under overall category and 23 schools under Sub-category which include special distinction of one border town Govt Primary School Gatti Rajo Ke where Dr.Satinder Singh, decorated with National Award by President of India – a dedicated and devoted to education and environment – is posted as Principal.
Giving this information, Nek Singh, District Education Officer said, all the heads of the schools have been advised to download the Certification of Participation, which will be presented over a simple and impressive ceremony at Ferozepur by the Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur on August 29, 2018.
He said, such awards will inspire the other schools to keep up the status of their schools as per the norms of ‘Clean India-Clean Schools campaign.
