CJM visits Central Jail on Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti
Ferozepur, October 2, 2021: Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, on Saturday, on the eve Mahatama Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, paid a visit to Central Jail.
A cultural programme involving jail inmates and Staff was organized for the entertainment of inmates with performances of bhangra, patriotic songs, and motivational songs performed.
Advocates accompanying CJM also educated the inmates regarding a ‘plea bargain’.
A separate cultural programme was organized for female inmates in the female ward where Giddha, Punjabi songs and solo dance were performed by inmates. A volleyball set was also provided by CJM for the jail inmates. Besides, the Covid-19 Vaccine-cum-medical camp was also organized where the first dose of Covaxin was administered to 30 inmates. Gynecologists and physician specialists from Civil Hospital examined the inmates and prescribed the treatment to inmate patients.
Appreciating the steps taken by the jail administration for the welfare of inmates and upkeep of jail campus, Ekta Uppal, CJM chief guest of the function during her address to the inmates, motivated them to join the mainstream and do something creative in their life.
