Chaos in Punjab Police recruitment – Youth Congress Workers submit memorandum
Demands to refund the hefty fee collected with the applications to unemployed youths
Ferozepur, November 10, 2016: District Youth Congress Workers led by Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, Youth Congress leader, today submitted a memorandum to the district administration against the disorder in recruitment of 7,000 posts in Punjab Police.
Exposing the government for providing recruitment to 1.13 lac unemployed youths and giving unemployment allowance, Gurbhej Singh Tibbi Kulbir Singh Zira said, “What to say of alloance, the government has collected Rs.25 crore from the unemployed youths by charging hefty amount with the application.
Talking about the anarchy in the recruitment, they said, the recruitment has been based on nepotism and faourtism on recommendations basis rather than merit of the candidate. Youth Congress workers demanded from the Punjab Government to refund the application fee charged from the all those unemployed who could not qualify in the recruitment process besides creating new job opportunities for them.
They further said that it is a tragic paradox that the Akalis, instead of honouring the promise to provide Rs.1000 employment allowance to the unemployed youths, have collected heavy fee from them
