Ferozepur, February 26, 2023: Taking cognizance of the incident of murderous assault on a woman outside the district courts complex at Bazwala chowk on February 21, the Ferozepur police have got installed the CCTV camera at the place of incident.
With the approval of project to install 100 CCTV cameras in Ferozepur, the third eye will remain open to monitor any untoward incident in Ferozepur.
In the incident, the four bike-borne men had attacked Kamlesh Rani, a resident of Bajidpur village, with sharp-edged weapons while she was coming out from the district courts complex. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot. The condition of Kamlesh was reportedly critical and she was admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College in Faridkot.
Randhir Kumar, SP (D) informed that the action to install the CCTV camera has been taken to thwart any future untoward incident. He said, the CCTV footages will help to take action against the unscrupulous persons and reduce the crime graph.
Meanwhile, four persons have been booked in murderous attack on a woman and the police are raiding at the designated hide-out places and shortly, they will be nabbed, said police official.
It is also pertinent to mention that in view of increasing in number of incidents of snatching and attacks, the Municipal Council has also prepared a project to install 100 CCTV cameras, at the sensitive places in the city including near the colleges and schools, at a cost of Rs.1 crore, for which the DPR has already been prepared and sent to the government for approval. In such incidents, the FIRs are booked but hardly any action being untraceable and lack of witnesses to the incident.
