Ferozepur, November 23, 2016:  Within 24 hours of Captain Amarinder Singh announcing the Captain Smart Connect Scheme more than 2 lakh youth have registered out of which 7590 registrations came from Ferozepur

Captain Smart Connect Scheme is a landmark initiative by Captain Amarinder Singh to- Digitally Connect the youth of Punjab by equipping them with a smartphone & internet – Empower them so they, themselves can explore more opportunities, and
Enable them to connect to the world

To this end, he has pledged to disburse 50 lakh smartphones with free data and calling facility to the youth of Punjab between the ages of 18 and 35 years; and he will allocate 4-5 thousand crores from the government budget to this initiative.

Captain Amarinder Singh&#39s team of volunteers in Ferozepur went to RSD College where they explained the initiative and its benefit to the students. Hundreds of students registered from Captain Smart Connect immediately and also pledged to give their contribution in connecting Punjab digitally by helping the needy students to get their smartphones registered so that they can also get the benefit and use this opportunity to expand their horizon.

Lovedeep, a youngster from Ferozepur, appreciated this initiative and also told how important it is to be connected digitally in today&#39s world. The volunteers are going to schools, colleges, markets, ATMs and all other areas in various districts to help the youngsters in registration process and be a part of digital Punjab in the future.

Karanveer a spokesperson of Congress said, the registrations are open till 30th November 6 PM and can be done on www.captainsmartconnect.com. Captain Smart Connect was launched in Chandigarh on 20th November in an event by Captain Amarinder Singh where more than 5000 youngsters took part.
