Khali disappoints youths –no wrestling show in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, March 2, 2016: While Capt Amrinder Singh lashed out at the ruling government for using delaying tactics in completing the PGI and Govt. College in Ferozepur and doing nothing for the eradication of drug menace, The Great Khali – a renowned international wrestler disappointed the youths as no wrestling show was arranged.
However, The Great Khali took pledge from people of Ferozepur to make Drug-Free Punjab. He said, wrestling academies are being opened in Punjab and one such is already working at Ludhiana to involve the youths with the sports activities.
In fact, few days back, Parminder Singh Pinki Congress MLA had announced the visit of Khali to Ferozepur to take oath from the youths to make contribution to make Drug-Free-Punjab and also had a meeting with the local NGOs and prominent citizens of Ferozepur.
Capt thanked Khali for visiting Ferozepur to take pledge from the youths to make Drug-Free-Punjab which was need of the hour.
Speaking on the occasion, Capt Amrinder Singh lashed out at the ruling government for using the delaying tactics in completion of PGI Satellite Centre and Government College in Ferozepur which could be helpful to the people of Malwa belt suffering from chronic disease like Cancer and getting higher education by the students from poor families.
The visit of Capt Amrinder Singh was also arranged with the visit of The Great Khali to use the platform for the political interests in view of the coming elections.
Capt however, promised that on coming in power, we will complete all pending development projects.
Making a reference to ‘white drug’ available in Punjab, Capt appealed to the people to make up your mind to eradicate the drug menace from the state.
He also promised to provide land for the Wrestlers Academy in Ferozepur on coming to power.
There was chaos on landing of Khali in the stadium to have introduction with the Women Kabaddi Team of local college. But the youths were disappointed for not witnessing the Khali’s wrestling. Earlier, it was also earlier announced that there will be a match between American and Indian women wrestlers and fight of The Great Khali at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium
Perhaps this is the first time that the political parties have become active in organizing seminars, rallies and such programmes to create a vote bank well in advance when still more than ten months are left for the next elections.
