BSF seizes heroin at Indo-Pak border at BOP Dona Telu Mal
Ferozepur, November 27, 2017: On 27 Nov 2017, Border Security Force personnel successfully seized 01 Packet (weight approx- 760 Gms) of contraband suspected to be heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Telu Mal, Ex-29 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, setting of fog/smog and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Sh Mukul Goel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti – National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.
Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on the border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.
On 27 Nov 2017 at about 0945 hrs, during search, Border Security Force troops recovered 01 Packet (weight approx. 760 Gms) of contraband suspected to be heroin which was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and buried in soil ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Telu Mal, Ex-29 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector.
The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India. During the year 2017, BSF has effected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border:- Heroin: 203.969 Kgs (including today’s seizure of 760 Gms) Opium: 2.054 Kgs Weapons: 20 Nos. Magazines (Different weapons): 34 Nos. Ammunition (Various calibres ): 694 Rounds Indian border crosser apprehended: 67 BD National apprehended: 05 Pak National apprehended: 24 Pak intruder interdicted: 06 PAK SIM Cards: 35 Nos.
