BSF seizes 8 kg heroin, 1 pistol China made in BOP Jodhawala Sector Abohar.
Ferozepur, September 1, 2016: Today, Border Security Force personnel successfully seized 8 packets (weight approx. 08Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin and one Pistol (China made) in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Jodhawala, Ex- Adhoc Papa-II Bn BSF, Sector Abohar.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border,Inspector General BSF PunjabFrontier issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors and Battalions under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination and to remain extra alert so as to effectively check activities of Anti- National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Sector DIG BSF Abohar directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.
Giving this information, R.S.Kataria, DIG, Senior PRO, BSF Punjab Frontier informed that onn September 1, 2016 at about 1315 hrs, Coy Commander of Border Out Post Jodhawala, Ex- Adhoc Papa-II Bn BSF observed (through binoculars) suspicious activities of a farmer working ahead of Border Security Fence.
Accordingly,a Special Search Operation was launched ahead of Border Security Fence in the area.During search, BSF party recovered 08 packets (approx. 08Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin along with01 Pistol (China made) which was hidden under wooden logs of tree lying in between International Border and Border Security Fence. In this connection, one Indian national namely Jagtar Singh s/o Panja Singh r/o village Jodhawala, Police Station-Sadar Jalalabad, District- Fazilka has been apprehended by BSF.
The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India. During the year 2016, BSF has effected 171 kg heroin including seizure of today, 11 numbers of weapon, 15 magazines, 211 rounds, 18 Pak mobiles, 30 Pak SIM cards, 11 Indian Mobiles, 6 Indian SIM cards, one BD Mobile, 2 BD SIM Cards, 6 Pakistani intruders interdicted, 6 Pakistani smugglers interdicted, one smuggler, 26 Pak border crosser apprehended, 2 Indian smuggler interdicted, 2 inter border crosser, 9 Indian smuggler, 49 Indian border crosser and 3 Bangladesh nationals were apprehended.
