BSF seizes 3 kg heroin and Pak currency in Ferozepur
Enhanced vigil thwarted the attempt of smugglers to smuggle contraband items into India
During 2015, BSF seizes 236.892 kg heroin valuing Rs.1185 crores
Ferozepur, October 15, 2015 : Border Security Force personnel have successfully recovered 03 Packets (Approx- 03 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be Heroin and Rs.100 Pak currency on Punjab border on 15th October’ 2015 in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Jagdish, Ex- 105 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to high grown paddy crops and ongoing harvesting season, Shri Anil Paliwal, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling and activities of Anti National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.
On the night intervening 14th/15th October 2015 at about 2120 hrs, suspicious movement of 03 persons was observed across the International Border by BSF troops of Border Out Post Jagdish, Ex- 105 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. Based on this observation, on 15th Oct 2015, a Special Search Operation was carried out by BSF troops ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Jagdish, Ex- 105 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. At about 0715 hrs, during search of the area, the BSF search party recovered 03 packets (approx. 03 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin and Rs.100 Pak currency.
The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
In continuing with its drive against heightened activities of smugglers/Anti-National Elements, BSF has effected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border during the year 2015 :-
