BSF seizes 11 kg heroin in BOP Nath near Indo-Pak international border
Ferozepur, August 30, 2017 : The Border Security Force – BSF personnel of 118 Bn successfully seized 11 packets weighing approximately 11 Kg of contraband suspected to be heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post – BOP Nath. The international market value is said to be Rs.55 crore of the seized contraband.
Giving this information R.S. Kataria, DIG, Sr. Public Relation Officers, BSF Punjab Frontier said, the BSF has strengthened the border domination so as to effectively heck activities of Anti-National elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.
A tip-off was received that smugglers are looking for an opportunity to dispatch the heroin via DRD Nath BOP into India. On seeing the suspicious nature activities across the border, the BSF jawans challenged the persons heading towards the international border and they fled away from the scene, he said.
During the search operation by BSF 118 Bn, 11 packets of heroin were recovered concealed near IB beneath in wild grass in the fields. Further investigations are on to ascertain as to whom this consignment was to be delivered in India, he added.
