BSF recovers drone, heroin in village near International Border in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 24, 2024: On Monday, an aware villager of a border village in district Ferozepur shared information with BSF about a drone near the border of the area. The BSF troops promptly conducted a search operation in the suspected area.
During the search operation, at around 09:00 am, the troops successfully recovered one drone along with 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 530 Grams). The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and 02 illuminating sticks were also found attached to the packet, which was tied to the drone with a metal wire. This recovery occurred in a farming field adjacent to Lakha Singh Wala village in Ferozepur District.
The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI MAVIC- 3 Classic. Timely information by a watchful villager to BSF and prompt action by the troops resulted in this significant recovery of a narco-drone launched from across the border.
