BSF recovers 3 drones in 5 days loaded with heroin, pistol on Ferozepur Int’l Border
Ferozepur, June 25, 2024: On Monday, based on information shared by an aware villager of a border village in district Ferozepur shared information with BSF about the presence of a drone along with contraband items near the border area. The BSF troops promptly conducted a search operation in the suspected area.
During the search operation, at around 7 PM, the troops successfully recovered one drone along with one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 560 Grams). The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and two blue-colored polythene. Four illuminating sticks were also found attached to the packet, which was tied to the drone with a metal wire. This recovery occurred in a farming field adjacent to Raja Rai village in Ferozepur District. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Air-3.
Earlier, on June 21, one packet of heroin containing 500 gms heroin was found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and one illuminating stick with an improvised ring. Again on June 22, BSF recovered the drone with a pistol and on June 24, again a drone of China-made DJI MAVIC-3 Classic, with a heroin packet containing 530 gm.
Timely information by a watchful villager to the BSF and prompt action by the troops resulted in this significant recovery of a narco-drone launched from across the border, said a BSF official.
