BSF nabs one person, seizes 8 kg heroin, pistol near Punjab Border
Ferozepur, November 27, 2020: In two different operations, the BSF has seized 8.020 kg heroin in 13 packets, worth crores of rupees along with one pistol and one person in the area responsibility of 29 Bn BSF Ferozepur sector, near Punjab border.
On Thursday, alert Border Security Force troops seized six Packets of contraband (approx. – 1.270 Kgs) suspected to be Heroin in the area of responsibility of 29 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector. Again on Friday, alert Border Security Force troops seized seven Packets of contraband (approx. – 6.750 Kgs) suspected to be Heroin and 01 Pistol in the area of responsibility of 29 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector at Border Operation Post DT Mall.
In both the cases, the Vigilant troops of Border Security Force once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India leading to the recovery of 13 packets of heroin. This is not the first time, earlier also the BSF had successfully foiled similar attempts in Punjab borders over the years. One person is also reported to be arrested but his details have not been disclosed and as investigation are still on.
Added here that during the year 2020, BSF has effected seizures on Punjab Border – Heroin : 477.953 Kgs (Including 7.950 ksg seizure), Indian Border Crosser Apprehended : 93 Nos,, Pak Intruder : 10 Nos, Weapon (Different Types) : 36 Nos (Including today’s seizure), Magazine(Different Types) : 57 Nos, Ammunition(Various Calibres) : 650 Rds, Pak Mobile Phone : 06 Nos,b Pak SIM Card : 10 Nos.
