BSF held 2 persons with magazine, rounds on coming back from fields across fencing
Ferozepur, June 21, 2020: On the complaint of BSF authorities, two persons were arrested and handed over to the police on the recovery of the magazine, rounds on coming back from working in the fields across the barbed wire.
According to Inspector Rajeshwar Mishra, Company Commander, B Coy 2 Bn BSF, on Saturday morning around 9.50 am, two farmers identified as Harmel Singh and Surinder Singh of Jalalabad got entry from Gate No.220/M BSF for going forward after making an entry in the Management Register.
Entry in the Management Register is made before crossing the barbed wire fencing to work in the agriculture fields which are allowed to only those who have been issued the Identity Cards.
On searching the Swaraj Tractor, on coming back, one magazine, 13 rounds of 7.63 mm were recovered. However, there was no brandmark on the magazine to ascertain its use on a particular weapon.
Both were arrested and handed over to the police and the case under Sections 25/54/59 of Arms Act has been registered and Mohinder Singh has been appointed as IO to investigate further into the matter, with special focus on the use of ammunition and purpose and links if any, with Pakistan nationals.
