Break-up in 4 yrs live-in relationship, victim mother-child cry for justice

Ferozepur, July 12, 2021: The trauma of shock was unbundled by the victim – Sanjana at Press Club Ferozepur, on break up of 4 years of live-in relationship after giving birth to a baby.

While the society still does not honour such live-in relations morally and socially but the Supreme Court has said that if a man and woman lived like husband and wife for a long period and had children, the judiciary would presume that the two were married.  The court has also cautioned parents of young couples to behave with more sensitivity while dealing with such issues.

Addressing the media persons, Sanjana said, I had a love marriage with Sanket about 4 years back and started living like husband and wife and one baby Alia was born during this period. Now for the last so many months, neither he is living with me nor giving me any money for day today expenses.  Rather, he has threatened dire consequences and to viral the vulgar photographs on social media on the pretext of his relations posted in the police department.  I further understand that Sanket is shifting with his family to Chandigarh and planning to marry another woman.

She further said, I am in shock and I have been insulted by society and family, making it difficult to move out of the house.

Despite approaching the police, no action has been taken against Sanket, she said, seeking justice by taking action against Sanket.

Sources said, the application has been given to the police only a week back and still under investigation.
