Blood Donation Camp held in memory of Krishan Kumari – journalist’s mother, 50 units donated
Ferozepur, June 19, 2023: A Blood Donation Camp in memory of Krishan Kumari’s first death anniversary – mother of Anand Mehra, Journalist – was organised today in Ferozepur at Lions Bhawan Greater Ferozepur Cantt in which more than 50 units of blood was donated. Bhupinder Singh, SSP Ferozepur especially visited the camp to encourage the blood donors.
In the blood donation camp, the donors were old, young and even females who had come forward voluntarily to donate the blood.
On asking about the non-breaking of the earlier record of 2000 units of blood in Ferozepur and it to 100, 200 and 300 units only, SSP said, “No doubt, the records create only awareness but the blood must be donated regularly to save the precious lives under treatment at the hospitals. Blood donation has been termed as the highest donation by the human being as it cannot be manufactured in any factory and it can only be donated by a human-being to another human-being. Shortly, we will organize another camp in association with Army and BSF and may make a record”.
When asked about donating blood by SSP Bhupinder Singh himself, he said, “My blood group is A –ve, which is rare and has not been accepted, rather advised to donate in case of any emergency. Giving advice to the criminals, he said, “Donate blood but don’t spill people’s blood”.
Anand Mehra, Journalist said, I have kept the departed soul alive by remembering my mother by organizing blood donation camp and it will be a regular feature.
Later, all the donors were honoured with a view to encourage them to strengthen secularism, communal harmony and national integration.
