Bike lifters gang busted, one held with ‘master-keys’, 25 two-wheelers seized
Ferozepur, April 6, 2022: In a major breakthrough, the Ferozepur police, a gang of thieves was busted in Ferozepur on Wednesday with the arrest of one gang member with ‘master-keys ‘and recovered 25 two-wheelers from his possession.
Divulging with details, Charanjit Singh Sohal, SSP informed that during the routine patrolling by CIA staff, a tip-off was received a bike lifters gang has been formed by Avtar Singh alias Tari, who in association with his gang members, lift the vehicles from main cities and further sell the same at cheaper rates, to innocent persons by changing the vehicle numbers with assurance to get it registered in their names.
A special team headed by SP Manwinder Singh along with DSP Jagdish Kumar and Inspector Jagdish Kumar incharge CIA staff, was constituted which nabbed Avtar Singh alias Tari who was coming on a stolen bike towards Jiwan Arian village. During the investigation, Avtar Singh admitted that he along with his accomplice Babli of Jiwan Arain and 25 stolen vehicles along with ‘master-keys’ were recovered – 20 from undeveloped railway colony and 4 from different persons who have taken the vehicles on loan, by misleading them.
After verification of the particulars of the vehicle, the concerned police stations are being informed and in the meantime, the accused will be produced in the court to get remand and more clues are likely to come on surface for more bikes are likely to be recovered and members involved. Besides, the hunt is also on to nab his accomplice Balbi in this case.
