As police flails, CPI workers show signs of victory, Five booked including one woman
Ferozepur, October 24, 2017: Today, the Communist Party of India – CPI workers gehrao the police station Guruharsahai for registering a protest for not taking action against Kashmir Lal – Congress leader for forcibly demolishing the shop of Hakam Chand and for taking illegal possession by taking out the entire goods besides seriously injuring him and his family members.
The police force bowing before the strength of the supporters of Hakam Chand, registered a case against the alleged accused namely – Kashmir Lal, Harmesh Lal, Inderjit Kaur, Sat Narayan, Subhash Chander and Sarwan Kumar under the relevant Sections of law.
The protest by hundreds of workers from all sections was led by Comrade Charanjit Singh Chhangarai, Block Secretary CPI, Bhagwan Dass Bahadar Ke, District Committee Member, Com Hari Chand Bahadar Ke and Com Dhola Mahi, Member District Executive Committee.
Addressing the protestors, Chhangarai said, The incident of taking over the possession of the shop took place on October 12 and since then we are pleading before the police to take action.
He further stated that instead of taking action against Kashmir Lal, a case under Section 452 was registered by the police on Hakam Chand. We have no other alternative except to adopt the path of agitation. The police have adopted the dilly-dallying attitude by not taking action so far.
Accusing Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, MLA from Guruharsahai behind all this show, Com Chhangarai said, all this has happened with the influence of Ran Sodhi when the alleged accused were moving frequently in the city.
He further said, the police and political leaders are hands in glove with each other which the ‘red flag’ workers will not tolerate at any cost.
Piara Singh Megha, District President, Sarb Bharat Naujawan Sabha and Com Balwant Chohana addressing the protesters said, the Congress government in Punjab has moved one step ahead so far as the excesses on the common man are concerned as the police instead of taking action against the accused are supporting them.
