Army organizes Mini Marathon 2018 under ‘Know Your Army’ campaign

Ferozepur, January 11, 2018: A Mini Marathon 2018 was organized for the students in Ferozepur today at the military station by the Golden Arrow Division as part of the series of events of ‘Know your Army’ campaign for the forthcoming Army Day. 

The run was organized to promote the healthy lifestyle and reinforce the emphasis on physical fitness amongst the vibrant youth. The participants got the experience of running on the iconic Mall road which houses historic war memorials.

 Brigadier HS Mehar, Commander Golden Arrow Artillery brigade, flagged off the event.  250 Students from all major schools of Ferozepur including Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dass & Brown, DCM & Delhi Public School participated enthusiastically while teachers & parents witnessed the event.  The marathon runners ran on the Mall Road in the backdrop of historic war memorials reminisce of the valour of the Army.

The winners in various categories were presented prizes for their success in the Marathon by Mrs Chanda Kundra. She also interacted & complimented the students for their splendid performance and motivated them for participation in sports & outdoor activities.

            The Marathon was a great success which encouraged and motivated the youth of Ferozepur.
