Army Day 2016 celebrations: Golden Arrow Division organizes Blood Donation &  Medical Camp

Ferozepur, January 10, 2016 : commemorate the celebrations of Army Day 2016, Blood donation and Medical camp was organized at Shaheed Baba Deep Singh College, Pahuwind (Bhikhiwind) by the Golden Arrow Division, under the aegis of Vajra Corps on 10 Jan 2016.

 

The objective of organising the medical camp was to reach out to all the                          ex-servicemen/veterans residing in the district of Tarn Taran district and adjoining areas of Kapurthala and to address their medical/health needs and of their families, with an aim to develop a database of the disease profile and identify the specific medical/health needs, which could be addressed through ECHS polyclinics subsequently. The voluntary Blood donation camp by the serving soldiers also motivated the local youth to come forward and contribute for the noble cause.

 

The medical camp  at Bhikiwind organized by GurkiBde of Kapurthala, provided Medical, Dental, Eye & ENT checkup for the veterans, veer naris and ex- servicemen, residing in the Tarn Taran district and adjoining areas. Apart from the medical facilities, various other facilities were also provided at the camp site to include interaction with representatives from Veteran Sahayata Kendra, Amritsar, Pension Distributing Office, Amritsar and District Sainik Welfare Office, Tarn Taran, to assist all visitors on various issues related to their pension , allowances and other cases pending with the civil administration.

 

Blood Donation and medical camps were also organized at Amritsar Military station  by Panther Division and at Jalandhar Military Station by the Vajra Corps. The Blood Donation and Medical Campsreceived an overwhelming response andwas a phenomenal success. It served the purpose of looking after our veterans, ex-servicemen and veer naris, as a mark of recognition of their contribution to the armed forces, which is an ongoing effort by the Vajra Corps.
