Army conducts Recruitment Rally at Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 9, 2017: An Army Recruitment rally was conducted at Jyoti Stadium, Ferozepur Cantt with effect from 30 Aug 2017 to 08 Sep 2017. The rally was for candidates belonging to Ferozepur, Faridkot, Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Bathinda districts.  A total of 31051 candidates registered for the rally and 21522 candidates finally reported for recruitment in the rally.

The candidates were screened for their physical performance and physical measurements. Out of 21522 candidates who participated in the rally only 2384 qualified in the physical performance and measurement tests.  40 % of these successful candidates were declared medically fit and balance will be re-examined at Military hospital at Jalandhar and Ferozepur.  Those candidates declared medically fit will now appear in the Common Entrance Exam on 29 Oct 2017. Based on overall merit successful candidates will be inducted into the various arms and services of the Army. 

Brig Jagdeep Dhaiya, Deputy Director General Recruiting (Punjab and J&K), oversaw the conduct of the rally.  The rally was conducted by Headquarters Recruiting Zone (Punjab and J&K) with assistance of civil administration Ferozepur District under the aegis of Vajra Corps & Golden Arrow Division. The positive and forthcoming administrative support rendered by civil administration including law and order and medical support by team of Red Cross for the candidates have been deeply appreciated.

Army Recruitment rallies go a long way in meeting the aspiration of youth of the area who wish to join the Army and serve the nation.  Unsuccessful candidates were advised to put in greater effort in  preparation for the rallies in future.  The schedule of rallies is given in ‘www.joinindianarmy.nic.in’.  Special emphasis was laid to make all candidates understand that the recruitment process is fully transparent and automated.  The candidates are advised not to fall prey to touts and agents.
