Amid Corona curbs, 95 pc wheat procured in Ferozepur mandis
Ferozepur, April 20, 2021: Following the C0VID-19 guidelines, 3,72,324 MTs which comes to 95.36 percent of the total arrival of 3,90,435 MTs in the mandis of Ferozepur district.
Divulging with details, Gurpal Singh Chahal said, all the five state agencies have procured wheat – Pungrain 1,30,898 MTs, Markfed 93,391 MTs, Punsup 73,219 MTs, PSWC 66,150 MTs, and FCI 8,675 MTs. He said, with allowing the once used gunny bags by the government, there is no shortage now and every single grain of the farmer would be procured and lifted and payment made, without any problem as the district administration is committed to the welfare of the farmers.
Expressing satisfaction over making the wheat procurement operations successful by the farmers, he asked the labourers, arthias and staff of procuring agencies by strictly following COVID-19 guidelines.
DC, however, once again asked all the concerned officers and officials to continue to follow the guidelines and taking precautionary measures at every step, to avoid any further transmission of the Coronavirus.
He also asked the farmers to bring their crop in the mandis only as per the coupon schedule. He said, all adequate arrangements for the comforts of farmers in the mandis have been made like sheds, drinking water, cleanliness, light etc. adding to wear masks, use sanitizers from time to time or wash hands and maintain a social distance and avoid touching their eyes, nose, mouth and spitting in the mandis. In the event of any symptoms of corona like fever, cough, headache etc, they should not hesitate to immediately take the doctor’s advice.
