Alert cops jumps into river to save two drowning lives, SSP applauds
Ferozepur, June 11, 2021: The Ferozepur police chief, Bhagirath Singh Meena, SSP applauded the alert cops saved two drowning lives by jumping into the river.
Divulging with the details, SSP said, Beant Singh along with his wife Virjeet Kaur, son Gurbaksh Singh and daughter Rehmat kaur was going on a bike from Ferozepur towards Zira, when they fell down into the Ranasthan Feed Canal near Bharana village. The alter Punjab police guard at the river – Joginder Singh, PHG, Paramjit Singh PHG, Desa Singh Beldar alongwith Manpreet Singh of Bharana villag and Gurpreet Singh of Gogoiani jumped into the river and saved Veerrjeet Kaur and Rehmat Kaur and also managed to take out the motorcycle. But the bodies of Beant Singh and his son Gurbaksh Singh could not be located. However, with the efforts of Canal Department and divers, their bodies were also found from Rajasthan Feed between village Mohkam Wala and Thethar Kalan.
SSP lauded the alertness of police officials on duty for saving two lives without bothering for their own lives.
