Akali Dal moves to High Court for video recording of entire MC elections process
Ferozepur, January 30, 2021: Janmeja Singh Sekhon, former Irrigation Minister of Akali Dal, while making allegations over the ruling party in Punjab said, the Shiromani Akali Dal candidates have not been provided the ward-wise voter’s list and they are unable to file nomination papers for MC elections. We have moved to the High Court for video-recording of the entire election process, he added.
Sekhon while talking to media persons said that Congress has done the wrong demarcation of wards in the city. The matter has been reported to the Returning Officer in this regard but no reply has so far been received. In the absence of a voters list, it is very difficult for SAD candidate to file the nomination papers. In fact, the Congress party wants the Akali Dal not to field their candidates during the elections.
He said, no development works have been carried by Congress and this is the reason that they are afraid of voting in their favour.
We have met the newly appointed SSP also who has assured that hooliganism will not be allowed in the district during the elections. Our party has also filed a petition in the High Court for video recording of the elections.
