After joining BJP, Rana Sodhi visits Ferozepur, claims for contesting Assembly election from Ferozepur

Ferozepur, December 26, 2021:  Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, former Sports Minister in Congress party and now after resigning, joined the Bhartiya Janata Party, visited Ferozepur to have a meeting with the BJP leaders to discuss the coming Assembly elections in Punjab and put his claim for contesting Assembly election from Ferozepur.

Former ADGP R.P.Mittal was also present on this occasion. Besides, a good number of BJP leaders and workers were also present.

Speaking to the media persons today, Rana Sodhi said, BJP team has unanimously decided that in the coming elections, BJP will contest the coming elections with strong hands and win all four seats in Ferozepur district.

It is added here that the four-time Guruharsahai MLA and former minister, who was close to former CM Capt Amarinder Singh, was dropped from the cabinet after Channi took charge as chief minister in September.  In a setback to the ruling Congress, senior Punjab leader and former minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi quit the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) just a few weeks ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.

Rana Sodhi said BJP is the only party that can fulfill the demands of the people under the leadership of PM Modi.

Regarding contesting elections from Ferozepur on BJP ticket, he said, I don’t have any demand but I will honour the party orders.

Accursing the Congress, he said, I have served for 40 years in Congress but it is not that which it used to be.  Congress used to be a secular party but now it is not rather dividing in the name of caste and religion. He said, Capt is contesting the elections in alliance with BJP – the biggest political party in the world.

On farmers contesting the elections, Rana Sodhi, I too have supported the farmers over the issue of farm laws from outside adding that anybody has the right to contest the elections, but it must think before having an alliance with the other party.
