Administration and NGOs join hands for high polling percentage during LS Polls

Ferozepur, March 15, 2019:  Aiming to increase the voting percentage in the district, the district administration along with social organizations have joined hands to exhort the people to cast their votes on the voting day on May 19. 

The decision was taken in the meeting held in the administrative complex under SVEEP program in which ADC Ravinder Singh and representatives of the social organizations participated

. 

ADC Ravinder Singh said that there is a need to bring awareness among the people regarding the importance of the votes in the democracy and people would be persuaded to participate in the voting process. He said that the administration will leave no stone unturned to improve the voting percentage in the district for which the administration will organize several awareness programs including cycle rally, street plays in the villages and city area and other initiatives. He said that Blind Home and Senior Citizen Society will also hold such programs and first-time voters will also be felicitated. 

ADC further asked SVEEP campaign’s nodal officer Dr Satinder Singh to involve the suggestions of the representatives to carry out awareness activities. 

He said, there is a need to focus on maximum polling of votes in urban areas and we can counter the low percentage trend by focusing on such awareness progrmmes.

On the occasion, Tehsildar Election Chand Parkash, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Behal, Executive Officer Dairy Bir Pratap Singh Gill, NYK coordinator Sarabjeet Singh Bedi, and others were present.
