Adhoc teachers to protest for regularization in Dy.CM’s constituency
Ferozepur, December 14, 2016: Resentment prevails among adhoc teachers of various categories – EGS/AEI/STR – working with the education department for the last 12 years since 2013, who are made to work as Volunteer Teache. Punjab Teachers Union in its meeting headed by Rajwinder Kaur Bhullar, has decided to register their protest for regularization and other demands on tomorrow at Jalalabad – the constituency represented by Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The situation is not so different in other district of the state. In Lambi constituency represented by Badals, certain teachers are already atop the water tank for the last more than six weeks and even he High Court has to intervene to first come down for further consideration.
Rajwinder Kaur said, the government has arranged the ETT course for regularization of services but till date they have not been confirmed.
On the other hand, the government has taken the plea that passing ETT is the qualification for making eligible for regular job and not the guarantee for the regular job.
She said, the adhoc employees should be given priority for regularization under the new policy formed for regularization of temporary employees with all facilities at par with the regular employees working in government service.
Giving a warning to the government, she said, in case their demand are acceded to, the adhoc teachers will intensify their agitation in the coming days putting a responsibility on the government for any untoward incident.
