Achievement of Punjab Frontier during 2020

1. Punjab Frontier of Border Security Force, is responsible to safeguard the 553 km long toughband challenging Indo-Pakistan International Border of Punjab. Despite many odds including inclement weather conditions and smuggling valiant BSF Jawans are guarding the borders round the clock with utmost dedication and unflinching spirit.
2. In 2020 (1st January to 31 December 2020), BSF troops of Punjab Frontier have maintained excellent alertness and have seize 517.064 Kgs heroin, 43 weapons, killed 08 Pak smuggler/intruder, apprehended 13 Pak Nationals, 01 Bangladeshi National. In a display of its humanitarian character BSF handed over 06 Pak Nationals to Pakistan Rangers who had inadvertently crossed the IB.
3. BSF being a border guarding force also looks after the populace residing in bordering areas and for their well-being conducts various Civic Action Programs which includes Free Medical Camps, Sports tournaments, Cultural activities and also efforts to help the needy people of bordering area. In addition, campaign about awareness and preventive measures to stop spread of the corona virus during the nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19 and distribution of essential items to needy people and sanitization drives were also organized.
4. In true spirit of “JAI JAWAN JAI KISSAN” to assist the border farmers and for speedy disposal of their problems, meetings with the farmers are being held by respective Company Commanders, at Commandant and DIG level during which their problems are solved on the spot. Itis ensured that adequate publicity of these meetings is done so that maximum farmers are able to take part in these meetings.
5. During the current year, we celebrated ‘International Yoga day‟, „Police Commemoration Day‟, ‘Run for Unity‟ and campaign of „Fit India Run’ & ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (Clean India Mission)’. Many initiatives were taken to improve basic infrastructure at grass root level to provide maximum facilities to Jawans in Punjab Frontier. In addition, keeping in view the welfare of Jawans and their family members, Family Welfare Centers are functional in each Unit where various Civil/Vocational courses are being run for families of BSF pers.
6. The Border Security Force, Punjab Frontier has been protecting the International Borders of Punjab with full devotion and will continue its endeavor to safeguard the International Border of Punjab with Pakistan.
