AAP losing its presentation in Ferozepur Rural Constituency
Ferozepur, December 13, 2016 : Every political party is up in arms and fielding its best candidates for the coming Assembly elections in early 2017 and if we talk about the Ferozepur Rural constituency, it looks to be a triangular contest in the first instance between Akali-BJP alliance candidate, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party.
There are 1,61,204 voters – 84946 male and 76258 female voters in this constituency which came into existence in 2012 presently being represented by Joginder Singh Jindu, the charter Akali MLA.
The Akali-BJP has already announced its sitting MLA Joginder Singh Jindu and AAP has fielded Mohan Singh Phalianwala former Member Parliament while the Congress is yet to formally announce its candidate being claimed by the runner candidate during the last elections – Satnam Kaur Gehri who lost with a margin of only in hundreds.
Joginder Singh Jindu has already started his campaign by visiting his constituency immediate after his announcement as alliance candidate of Akali and BJP.
During the current tenure, Jindu had been closely in touch with the voters of his constituency and has become a known figure among the voters.
On the other hand, AAP candidate Mohan Singh Phalianwala announced two months back still keeping a distance from the constituency and the party leaders. Even the sources said, the Phalianwala is being rejected as outsider and change of candidate is also demanded. Not only this, another aspirant Bhajan Singh Syan on deny the ticket has joined the Congress party.
There had been not even a single meeting by him in Mamdot area and it is talk of the town after the only conference at Ferozeshah on December 10 of resentment by certain senior leaders. The volunteers of AAP being offended have started showing interested in other traditional parties and there are possibilities of changing the candidate to improve the chances for winning this seat.
However, the AAP party surfaced in the state as third major party in the coming assembly elections, if don’t take care of the sentiments of its supporters for change of candidate, the better performance by AAP in the present circumstances are remote in the coming days.
