AAP demands ‘report card’ on Capt’s 10 months tenure in office
Ferozepur, January 29, 2018: Just a handful workers Aam Admi Party – AAP – which has since almost lost its identity because of its poor performance in the last elections in Punjab and disqualification of its 20 MLAs in Kejriwal government in Delhi – are continuing their protests, just keep alive the party for the next elections in 2019, if the circumstances keep it up in their favour. In this context, a memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner today followed by a protest by burning the effigy of Modi and Capt government.
Leading the protest Sukhraj Singh Gora, Incharge Malwa Zone while talking to media persons said, both Modi government at the centre and Capt government at the state level are taking anti-people decision for which there is resentment among the people.
Demanding a report card of 10 months’ tenure of Capt government in Punjab, Gora pointed out that what to say of starting new projects, the 1647 Sewa Kendra started during the Badal government have been shut down. There were around 2147 Sewa Kendars but the Congress party government in Punjab led by Capt Amarinder Singh has decided to retain only 500. Capt in his ten months rule in the state, not strangulated democracy but also officially endorsed his betrayal with the farmers as is evident that more than 350 farmers have committed suicides so far.
He said, any government start any project to provide facilities to its residents and if something wrong goes in the process, instead of correcting it, the Congress government has adopted a unique to tackle by shutting down the same.
Dr.Malkit Thind, District President, AAP said, the government is backing out from its promises. Instead of waiving the debts of the farmers, the government has decided to impose the installation of meters on tubewells, compelling the farmers to adopt the path of suicides, he added.
He pointed out that earlier the Modi government has introduced demonetization followed by GST and now by increasing the oil prices, harassing the farmers. In case the government cannot help grieved farmers, at lease do not burden them more to hide your own failures, said Dr.Thind.
Still expressing his hope over the coming Lok Sabha elections, Dr.Thind said, in the coming elections, AAP will revive its stand in view of the failed policies of the government to give a befitting reply. He, however, asked the government to roll back all anti-farmers decisions failing the party will intensify its agitation at the state level.
