Color TV Director, Writer and MD booked on complaint of Valmiki Outfits in Ferozepur
Threatened to intensify agitation if TV serial not withdrawn from Satellite for all viewers
Ferozepur, August 8, 2019: On the complaint of Valmiki outfits – Dharmagia Aadh, Dharam Samaj Aadhas, Bharat Sham Lal Suddar resident of Bharat Nagar, Ferozepur, the Director, Writer and MD of Color TV Channel has been booked under Section 295-A and 67 IT Act at City police station, for hurting the sentiments of Valmiki Community by airing the serial ‘Ram Siya Ke Luv-Kush’ by allegedly representing the disfigured facts.
The community has given a Bandh Call for September 7 demanding to withdraw airing of TV serial without going into the historical facts which have hurt the sentiments of the entire Valmiki Community. Tension prevailed in many parts of Punjab as the protesters organized rallies, blocked national highway between Jalandhar and Amritsar. A peaceful Bundh call, to express resentment, for not taking any action against the TV Channel, despite giving a memorandum, to the district administration.
However, Chief Minister Punjab issued orders to suspend the TV serial but Valmiki Community representatives – Pippal Sahota, Kikkar Sahota and Ulfat Rai – had threatened to intensify the agitation in case the TV serial is not withdrawn from the DTH – Satellite ends.
