7th Punjab State Level Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Championship held in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 15, 2019: 7th Punjab State Level iD Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Championship was held at Ferozepur with participation of 500 students in visual and oral competitions. Abacus is a modern calculating tool that was in use in Europe.
In Visual Arithmetic Competition, the participants of different caterieis – Junior and Senior Level – replied to 200 questions in 8 minutes.
Pushpnath, Parijat, Jaskaran Singh, Ridhima Sharma, Sagar Chhabra, Nirmal Singh, Niyati Goyal, Tanishka and Ayati Doda bagged Super Championship prize consisting of trophy and Rs.1100 cash.
Apart from this, in Oral Arithmetic Competition Group A and B Junior and Senior level winner were also honoured with a gift of Cycle and trophy and school bag of Runner Up.
In this competition, girls surpassed boys and among the winners is Astha from Fazilka, Taniskha, Bhavika and Ayati Doda from Ferozepur.
Some of the participants surprised the Chief Guest with live demo by answering the calculations quickly than the calculation on the calculator. SDM Amit Gupta Chief Guest of the function gave away the prizes.
Congratulating the girl winners, Amit Gupta, Chief Guest said, Id Abacus is the modern calculating machine faster than calculator. Girls excelling in this competition has given a positive message to the society of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
Gaurav Doda, Director Id Abacus thanked the Chief Guest and congratulated the participants wishing a better future in life.
