Sukhpal Singh adjudge best for State Award under Swachh Bharat Mission
Ferozepur August 16, 2018: Sukhpal Singh, Sanitary Inspector got the State Award at the district level Independence Day celebrations at Ludhiana in recognition of his appreciable contribution under Swachh Bharat Mission in Ferozepur district.
Talking to media persons, Sukhpal Singh said, “I feel glad to say here that on the very auspicious day of 15th August, I am receiving the state award from our respected Chief Minister, Captain Amrinder Singh. Keeping in mind my good work in the field, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur recommended my name for the state award. I heartily thank Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, senior officers, my family and my team who always supported me in my work. I really expect that I will always be motivated to work in the same way in the future”.
It is pertinent to mention that Sukhpal Singh has done the commendable job in the various schemes of the government from time to time under special campaigns under Swachh Bharat Mission. Under his supervision, toilets were provided in 1270 houses and door-to-door garbage collection was converted into organic fertilizers by segregation and used in the public parks, government offices and city parks, by regulating wet garbage.
During the period under review for the award, 4000 apps were downloaded under Swachhta App launched by the Government of India and Ferozepur bagged the second position in the assessment of complaints in 2017.
Under the Sanitation Survey 2017, from North Zone of the country Ferozepur got 'Fastest Moving City Award' and 'Cleanliness Survey 2018' from 4200 cities of the country, gets the 168th place and fourth position in Punjab. He organized 50 sanitation clubs in the district and launched a cleanliness and awareness campaign in the city.
Sukhpal Singh was honoured by the CM with a cash reward of Rs.11,000 rupees and a gold plating medal on the occasion of Independence Day.
