2 youths from Ferozepur died due to ‘drug overdose’

Ferozepur, July 16, 2018: Two youths – one from village Jhoke Hari Har and the other from Mudki in Ferozepur – both in their twenties – died due to drug overdose.

As per the information, a 23-year old youth died apparently due to an overdose of drugs at village Jhoke Hari Har near Ferozepur  has been confirmed by the family members.

He has been identified as Rinku son of Balvir Singh resident of Jhoke Hari Har village.  The family members informed that Rinku had reportedly took overdose of drugs and when he started feeling upset, he was admitted in the private hospital, where he died.

The family members have demanded that drug smugglers should be put behind the bars and tried under the strictest Sections of law so that they may not dare to do such business which is ruining the youths of Punjab.

As per information the deceased was a labourer and was taking drugs for the four years.

Another youth in Ferozepur became the victim of overdose of drugs. The deceased has been identified as Sukhdev Singh son of Joginder Singh, resident of Village Mudki near Ghallkhurd police station in Ferozepur. As per information available Sukhdev died today morning

Added here, Sukhdev had two younger brothers who were also addicted to drugs and his family members were also involved in drug peddling. On July 14, the police had arrested his mother Manjit Kaur  and had recovered 500 intoxicating tablets from her following which a case under NDPS Act was registered against her at Ghallkhurd police station in Case number 94 dated 14.07.2018.
