Recovery of two mobile phones exposes jail security crack
Ferozepur, February 9, 2018: During the checking in the Central Jail, two mobiles have been recovered from jail inmates, has posed a great security threat of jail.
On the report of Superintendent Jail, a case has been registered on the recovery of Samsung mobile phones.
Giving this information Gurmel Singh, Inquiry Office informed that the mobiles have been recovered from two prisoners identified as Harjinder Singh son Gurcharan Singh resident of village Karmu Wala, Sukhjit Singh son of Kirpal Singh village Dhuri District Sangrur and Paramjit Singh son of Swarn Singh resident of village Jandwala, Guruharsahai. All the three prisoners have been booked under Prisons Act.
Recovering of mobiles, drugs etc from the prisoners, despite tight security and checking at various places, have become a regular feature. While it puts a big question mark on the intentions of the jail staff, it also posed a great threat to the security tags.
The jail campus which is now covered with the thickly populated area from the back side is said to be one of the main reasons behind the smuggling of mobiles or other materials inside the jail, from where it can be easily thrown either from the tall building or from the open. Last time, the certain material was recovered reported to be thrown from outside by putting in the rubber ball.
