Vohra – Sodhi controversy :Guruharsahai traders come in support of Rana Sodhi
Ferozepur October 15, 2017: Once considered to be a close confidant of Capt Amarinder Singh Chief Minister, Rana Sodhi, MLA from Guruharsahai has landed in a controversy in his own constituency. However, the traders of Guruharsahai town, 35 km from Ferozepur have come in support of Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Congress MLA from this Assembly constituency as per the news published in the newspaper threatened by SAD leader Mintu Vohra to release a video clip of Rana Sodhi, by holding a press conference in the Press Club Ferozepur.
It is said that President of Municipal Council, Guruharsahai, Mintu Vohra, a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader, has warned Sodhi with dire consequences if the former did not stop activities to end his business. Vohra stated that he had a video clip of Rana Sodhi and if it was to be circulated, then everyone would able to know the reality of MLA Rana Sodhi.
Vohra earlier in a press conference at Chandigarh has said that Rana Sodhi was hand-in-glove with the sand mafia operating in the state. Vohra said despite being a president of Municipal Council, he was not being allowed to sit on his chair in the office. He said that he has been running his rice-shelling business, but the MLA, using his power, was giving directions to the officers to target him (Vohra) with undue harassment. Even his family members were facing threats through messages. Vohra said that if any mishap occurs with him, then Rana Sodhi will be responsible for this
Earlier, refuting all the allegations against him, Rana Sodhi had challenged to release video of any with him.
Speaking to the media persons, Amrit Vohra, former Director Markfed said, Mintu Vohra – who is his close relative also – was involved in many embezzlements during the erstwhile SAD-BJP regime and to save his skin and now he is leveling counter charges to save his skin.
Appreciating the clean image of Rana Sodhi – four times MLA from Guruhasrsahai, Moor Chand Kapoor, President Arthia Association said, a number of false cases have been registered to harass me by Monti Vohra and during the last tenure of government.
Seemu Passi and Sonu Monga President Truck Union too refute disproving the charges by Monti Vohra said, there is no partiality in allotment of paddy to his rice mill, as on date more than one lac paddy bags have been stored with him.
On asking about threatening of viral of video by Monti Vohra, he said, there is no such video it is just a pressure tactics to defame Rana Sodhi. He too dared to release if there is any video.
Atmjit David and Rajinder Bhateja also condemned the attitude of Monti Vohra when he was active during the SAD government and showed a video clip also captured in the CCTV camera damaging his shop.
In good numbers, the traders from Guruharsahai were present in the press conference to support Rana Sodhi.
