5 Kg heroin recovered in joint operation of BSF and STF in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 16, 2017 : With constant vigil on our borders to prevent infiltration, terrorism and smuggling activities by the Border Security Force jawans, got another success with the recovery of 5 Kg suspected to be heroin on an input from Special Task Force (STF), Punjab Police, corroborated by signal from DEC(G) FGR.
As per the information, the troops were alerted and a special joint search oeration was carried by STF Punmjab Police DC(G) Team Ferozepur and BSF Troops of Papa V (D Coy 105 Bn), in DT Mall area.
During the search, 5 packets suspected to be heroin approximately weighing 5 Kg wrapped in yellow polythene, buried in soil were recovered near the tyre of generator set under the tree, in alignment of BP No.195/M from the cultivated land of Tehal Singh son of Thakar Singh resident of Maboke falling under police station Mamdot in Ferozepur Distirct.
The value of recovered heroin is said to be Rs.25 crore in the international market.
The entire operation was carried out a team of 18 officials of STF headed by Kuldeep Sharma Dy SP and BSF including DC G Ferozepur under whose supervision the whole operation was carried out.
