BSF recovers 5 kg heroin from international border at BOP Jagdish
Ferozepur, February 10, 2017: The vigilant Border Security Force 137 Bn troops today recovered five packets of Heroin which was concealed under the cart wheel at Border out Post Jagdish.
The BSF jawans deployed near the ‘zero line’ were issued special operational guidelines keeping in view the vulnerability of border due to ongoing cultivation and tilling season and enhanced activities of smugglers and anti-national elements, said B.S.Rajpurohit, DIG(Sector HQ) BSF.
Today, when farmers were coming out after tilling, one farmer, identified as Karnail Singh son of Kishan Singh, resident of Village Gandhu Kilcha was asked for checking of his bullock cart. On finding something suspicious about his activities, he managed to flee from the spot saying he was going to call the mechanic as his cart was punctured and left his bullock cart. On checking the punctured tyre, they seized five packets of heroin from it.
