Parvinder Singh – Indian Hockey Team Member gets warm welcome on reaching home town Ferozepur
Ferozepur, December 21, 2016: Parvinder Singh one of the Indian Hockey Team member from border town village Sodhewala near Ferozepur was given a warm welcome by the district administration, sports lovers and citizens on his maiden visit to Ferozpur after India scripted a new chapter in hockey history regaining the Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup after a gap of 15 years, defeating Belgium 2-1, in the final at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday.
Parvinder Singh Hockey Player, belongs to village Sodhewala near Ferozepur. He was taken in the open jeep from Octroi No.7 from the outer of Ferozepur up to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium via Sher Shah Wali Chowk where he was given a warm welcome.
Present among others on this occasion were Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, DC, Harjit Singh SDM Ferozepur, Kshmir Kaur, SP Crime, Harinder Singh Dod, DSP, Harsandeep Singh, SI, Sukhjinder Kumar, ASI, Sunil Kumar, DSO, Ashok Behal, Secretary Red Cross Baldev Bhullar, Member Consumer Court, Gurnaib Singh Brar, former MLA, Manjit Singh Sodhi, Harnarain Singh Ladi former DSO and Secretary, District Hockey Association, Manager, Ashok Kumar and others.
On reaching the stadium, Parvinder Singh bowed before the hockey ground from where he has started his career at the age of ten years.
Later, Parvinder Singh was taken in a procession to his village Sodhewala with thousands of sports lovers, well-wishers and local citizens.
