“Make in India” campaign in Ferozepur – ITI trained students will help in reducing unemployment graph
Ferozepur, July 15, 2016: To make the various pass-out students from ITIs – in various streams of Carpenter, Plumber, AC Repair, Electrician, Welder etc. – , a part of ‘Make in India’ programme, one days’ workshop was arranged at the local ITI to create awareness about the various schemes and tool kits available besides availability of easy loans to start their own business to become self-dependent.
Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner addressing the students said, “Despite pass out of students every year, still there is a shortage of skilled workers in the market and facilitating them with tool-kits through low interest loans, would help them to start their own workshops besides reducing the graph of unemployment”.
He said, A fortnight training to the registered students would be given followed by providing them loan under DRI Scheme and tool-kits so that they could start their own work.
He said, there are 13 skill centres working in Ferozepur and so far around 10,000 students have been trained to enable them to earn a livelihood and procured mass orders from institutions like schools, BSF and Punjab Police.
The workshop was attended by representatives of banks, industry department, labour department, social activists, tool-kit suppliers, ITI experts and pass-outs of ITIs,” said Tejinder Singh, principal ITI and nodal officer.
Around25,000 students from 221 upper primary schools were also put wiser about the E-Rozgar App having information about the courses and registration for themselves.
