Police organizes Drug Awareness Seminars in Ferozepur to get people's feedback
Ferozepur, April 7, 2916 : Today, the district police launched Drugs Awareness Campaign in the different villages of the district to shun the chronic disease of drugs from Punjab. Seminars were held at village Kachhar Bhan and Basti Machhian falling under Zira police stations and at Rukanshah Wala under Kulgarhi and Hamadwala under Mallwala and Palla Megha under Ferozepur Sadar and Sodhi Wala under Ghall Khurd police stations, which was attended by residents of the area. The Seminars were presided over by Amarjit Singh, SP and SSP himself.
In fact, with the state marching towards Assembly elections early next year, the Punjab Police have taken this initiative against drug trafficking and addiction across rural and urban areas of the state. After the huge recoveries of drugs in the past and nabbing drug smugglers, the police officials will now hold village level meetings to have a feedback from people regarding the prevailing situation of drugs in the state. The purpose of this campaign is to cover all the villages in the state in the next three months to get people's feedback and also motivate the people to contribute towards the fight against drug addition and smuggling.
Giving this information, SSP Manminder Singh while presiding over the function at Zira said, the seminars have been organized to create awareness among the people especially the youths.
He said, there are three consequences of while dealing with the drugs – hospital, jail and crematorium. We all should come forward to make the Drug-Free Punjab and save the youths of Punjab.
