Govt. High School Khushal Singh Wala celebrates “Guidance and Counseling Day”
Ferozepur, July 30, 2015 : As per the direction of Education Department, Punjab, Guidance and Counseling Day was celebrated at Government High School, Khushal Singh Wala, on Thursday by the students of 9th and 10th classes.
Chetan Batra and Sahil of computers department of Saheed Bhagat Singh College, Ferozepur were invited on the occasion to apprise the students about the importance of selecting careers after completing basic school education.
Speaking on the occasion, Chetan Batra insisted upon the need of choosing professional courses to survive the challenges of upcoming demand of evolving professionals in various fields. He also urged the students to choose their careers with utmost care.
Sahil, another computer expert, dwelt upon how to seek admission in various professional courses directly after class 10th. He also guided the students to seek the help of their teachers, parents and peers in deciding about their professional qualifications.
Headmistress of the school, Shivani Monga also advised the students to develop career- oriented approach. She also laid emphasis on the rising need of setting up guidance and counseling cells in the educational institutes.
Meanwhile the students also recited poems and presented songs related to career and guidance. A group song of Late Harivansh Rai Bachhan “koshish karne walon ki kabhi haar nahi hoti” stole the show.
Shivani Monga Headmistress paid a vote of thanks to the Counselors for visiting the school for counseling and guiding the students.
