Ferozepur, December 19, 2019: In a first ever attempt, a two days’ Disability Certificate Camp for disabled persons (0-18 years), was organized at the residence of MLA Parminder Singh Pinki, which after huge success was extended for the third day on Thursday for left-over cases and for people above 18 years of age. A total of 1500 disabled persons took the benefit of the camp.
To facilitate the disabled persons the camp was organized by Parminder Singh Pinki, MLA Ferozepur which served as catalyst in providing disability certificates to the needy once.
MLA Parminder Singh Pinki said that earlier the disabled persons and their parents had to visit the different departments in the Civil Hospital to get Disability Certificate adding he said that this camp was aimed at providing this facility at one place. For first time the examination and identification of disabled persons by a team of ten medical experts, under one roof was done. Mr. Pinki further added that the camp was for two days which on public demand extended for third day on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occassion, Inderjit Kaur wife of MLA Parminder Singh Pinki said, on the demand of the public, the third day was dedicated to left out disabled persons especially persons above 18 years of age.
She said that soon pension and job fair camp will be organized for these people to bring them the benefit various schemes like pension, train and bus free travelling passes, free medical treatment and job reservation.
She said, during their visit to the various villages and schools, the disabled persons were feeling difficulty in getting the Disability Certificate by visiting the various departments in the hospital. So, we decided to organize this camp at our residence to provide this facility under one roof by arranging the team of expert doctors. All disabled persons will be issued Disability Certificates according to the percentage of disability.
While talking to few parents, the office bearers of various non government organizations appreciated the vision of MLA Parminder Singh Pinki and stated that it was all due to his personal interest with selfless vision which will benefit them to avail the benefits of various schemes.
Arrangements for their sitting, langar and distribution of socks and caps were also made at his residence.
On this occasion, Chander Mohan Handa, President, Beopar Mandal, Ashok Behal, Secretary Red Cross, Shelly Kamboj, President, Sarbat Da Bhala Welfare Society, Surjit Sethi, Krishan Mohan Chobey and other were present.
