Ferozepur, July 30, 2024 – The Ferozepur Foundation marked its 5th anniversary, celebrated as “Aap Ki Badolat,” with a gathering at Candlewood over Khatu Shyam Kirtan. The event, attended by various dignitaries and local citizens, highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community service.

Founded with the mission “No one hungry, no sleep,” the Ferozepur Foundation started by distributing langar (free meals) to the needy. Over five years, this effort has expanded from a single location to five, feeding approximately 1,500 people daily. The foundation’s work extends beyond food distribution, including cow service, environmental conservation, and water services at cremation grounds.

Founder, Shailendra Shaili Babla shared that the foundation began when he noticed a group distributing food to hospital patients. Inspired, he shifted his focus from his restaurant business to community service. The foundation now operates a dedicated kitchen to prepare hygienic meals, with volunteers braving all weather conditions to serve.

In addition to langar at various city locations, including civil hospitals and cantonment areas, the foundation provides food packets to families in need. The foundation also organizes cultural and family education programs, celebrating festivals and promoting family unity.

Vishal Sethi, a foundation member, noted the introduction of the city’s first air-conditioned hearse and a refrigerated facility for preserving deceased bodies. These services, along with a water cart distributing water to patients and families in hospitals, demonstrate the foundation’s comprehensive approach to community support.

The foundation is also active in cow service, with volunteers regularly feeding cows at Gopal Gaushala. Environmental initiatives include tree planting and the “Khushiyon Ka Karvan” project, which provides school supplies to students in government schools. During last year’s floods, the foundation played a significant role in relief efforts.

On its anniversary, the Foundation held a Sankirtan of Shri Khatu Shyam, featuring well-known bhajan singers. The event served as a moment to reflect on past achievements and reaffirm the Foundation’s dedication to future service.

The Ferozepur Foundation, under the leadership of Shailendra Babla, has set a commendable example of selfless service and community involvement. As it celebrates this milestone, the foundation looks forward to continuing its impactful work in the community for years to come.
