7 children born on Leap Year Day in Ferozepur to celebrate next birthday after 4 years
Ferozepur, March 1, 2024: February 29 is the least common birth date in the country, but the seven babies born on February 29 in Ferozepur will be celebrating their birthdays every four years.
A leap year is a year that has an extra day in February, and it occurs every four years. Leap years have 366 days, while non-leap years have 365 days. Every year that is exactly divisible by four is a leap year, except for years that are divisible by 100, but these centurial years are leap years if they are exactly divisible by 400. For example, the years 1700, 1800, and 1900 are not leap years, but the years 1600 and 2000 are.
The interesting story of this day is that in most countries, February 29 is considered the official birthday for leaplings when it comes to legal documents, such as a driver’s license or passport. However, some states in the U.S. allow leaplings to celebrate their birthday on either February 28th or March 1st on non-leap years. Even if “leapers” choose a different date to ensure they have an annual birthday, their age is officially younger than the majority.
On Thursday, 5 children – 3 boys, and 2 girls – were born in the civil hospital while 2 – one boy and one girl – were in the private hospitals on the last day of the month of leap year February 29, 2024, and now the next leap year will be February 29, 2028. Among the seven deliveries, five were normal, and two were caesarean.
However, all the families of newly born children were happy and it is all due to natural processes but it is a special day. While some of them said, we would celebrate the birthday every four years and two of them had the view to celebrate the event on February 28 every year.
