6 inmates, one unidentified person booked on mobile and charger recovery from jail

Ferozepur, September 19, 2022:  Under the Prisons Act, 5 inmates along with one unidentified person have been booked on recovery of six mobiles and three mobile chargers, during the search operation carried out by Jasvir Singh, Assistant Superintendent, Central Jail.

Added here, as many as, around 300 mobiles have been recovered during the current from inside the jail from the inmates or thrown from outside over the high walls besides recovery of various banned items.  Sometime back, even the doctor was arrested for smuggling in the heroin and other items.  With regular recovery of mobiles and various intoxicant items, the connivance of the jail staff cannot be ruled out.

However, the purpose of keeping the criminals away from the outer world as punishment is lost when they stay connected.

Jasvir Singh said, during the search operation, six jail inmates identified as Ravinder Singh, Rahul, gangster Rajnish Kumar, gangster Ravi Kumar, ganster Taranjot Singh alias Tanna have been booked for recovery of mobile, one from each, with and without SIM cards and three chargers besides one mobile as unclaimed.

Jang Singh has been appointed as IO and further investigations are on.
