40,000 ltr ‘lahan’ recovered in joint raid by Excise and Police teams
Ferozepur, October 20, 2020: Under the ongoing Operation Red Rose after the tragic hooch incident in Amritsar taking more than 100 lives, today joint excise raid has been conducted in the enclaves of River Sutlej in the surrounds of village Habib-ke by Excise Department and Ferozepur Police under the supervision of EI HS Bhatti of Excise Department and ASI Gurmail Singh of PS Sadar, Ferozepur.
During the raid approximately 40,000 ltrs of ‘lahan’ recovered and destroyed besides 17 tarpaulins, 5 Iron drums and 3 aluminum utensils have also been recovered and taken into custody.
On this occasion Excise official said that police report to this effect has been given to proceed for further action. However, no arrest could be made. He further said, the campaign against drugs would be intensified and mischievous elements involved in illicit liquor trade would not be spared. He said that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in illegal liquor business.
